Celebrity Cruises Expands Horizons: Introducing Hybrid Boats to the River Cruise Market
Celebrity Cruises has officially entered the river cruise market with the introduction of two new hybrid vessels, the Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker. These ships are specifically designed to navigate the Rhine and Danube rivers, featuring hybrid propulsion systems that promise a more serene onboard experience by reducing noise and vibration.
Each vessel accommodates 172 guests and showcases a range of sustainable technologies, including advanced waste management and energy-efficient systems. Guests can expect a spacious environment with panoramic views, multiple dining options, open decks, and suites equipped with the innovative "Skylight Infinite Balcony." Additional on-deck amenities will feature cantilevered dining pods, infinity-edge plunge pools, and observation lounges.
The river cruise offering is structured to provide an all-inclusive experience, covering shore excursions, Wi-Fi, dining, and beverages in the fare. While children aged four and older are welcome aboard, the lack of dedicated children’s programming is designed to enhance a peaceful atmosphere.
The inaugural season will consist of 33 seven-night sailings, taking advantage of the ships’ designs to access central docking locations within European city centers.
