Virgin Voyages Debuts Land-Based Entertainment Production Arm: A New Era of Immersive Experiences
Virgin Voyages has unveiled an exciting new entertainment venture called "Screw It, Let’s Do It Productions." This initiative will take its original onboard shows and adapt them for live performances on land. Productions from their cruise ships will be showcased at Virgin Hotels and partnered venues, with the inaugural land performance of "Booked" set to premiere in 2026. Furthermore, the flagship event “Scarlet Night” will also make its debut at Virgin Hotels locations in Las Vegas and Shoreditch in the same year.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, described this expansion as a testament to the high-caliber entertainment offered onboard their ships. He emphasized the importance of continuous evolution in their offerings, highlighting that fresh content and updated facilities have contributed positively to the Scarlet Lady’s commercial success on its Miami itineraries.
Recently, the Scarlet Lady underwent extensive refurbishments, featuring 24 revamped suites, new VIP cabanas, and a new restaurant named Lucky Lotus, which presents a Chinese-inspired menu. The current entertainment lineup on the ship includes "Booked" and "Persephone," a contemporary reimagining of a Greek myth.
The production of "Booked" is a collaboration with No Ceilings Entertainment, whose leaders will join an advisory board for the new production division, collaborating with other recognized theatrical producers. To fuel this creative endeavor, Virgin Voyages has established a 30,000-square-foot rehearsal facility in Orlando, complete with full-scale replicas of onboard performance spaces to facilitate thorough rehearsals and workshops before shows are introduced to guests.
