Celebrity Cruises Sets Sail into the River Cruise Market with Innovative Hybrid Boats
Celebrity Cruises has officially ventured into the river cruise industry with the introduction of two new vessels, the Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker. These ships are engineered for navigating the Rhine and Danube rivers and are equipped with hybrid propulsion systems aimed at minimizing noise and vibration, creating a more tranquil onboard experience.
Accommodating 172 guests each, the ships feature various sustainable technologies such as sophisticated waste management and energy-efficient systems. Onboard, guests can enjoy spacious amenities with numerous dining options, expansive open decks, and suites designed with a "Skylight Infinite Balcony" feature. Top-deck attractions include cantilevered dining pods, infinity-edge plunge pools, and lounges with observation views.
The river cruise experience is designed as an all-inclusive one, covering shore excursions, Wi-Fi, meals, and beverages in the fare. Although children aged four and older are welcomed, the design intentionally lacks dedicated children’s programming to preserve a serene atmosphere.
The inaugural season will launch with 33 seven-night sailings, allowing the new vessels to dock at central locations within European cities.
