Celebrity Cruises Makes Waves in the River Cruise Market with Innovative Hybrid Boats

Celebrity Cruises has announced its expansion into the river cruise sector with the introduction of two new hybrid vessels, the Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker. These ships are purpose-built for navigating the Rhine and Danube rivers and are equipped with hybrid propulsion systems that aim to minimize noise and vibrations, creating a serene atmosphere onboard.

With a capacity of 172 guests, both vessels feature sustainable technologies that include advanced waste management systems and energy-efficient designs. Onboard, passengers can enjoy a spacious layout with multiple dining venues, open decks, and suites designed with a "Skylight Infinite Balcony" concept. The top deck will host unique amenities such as cantilevered dining pods, infinity-edge plunge pools, and observation lounges.

The river cruise experience is all-inclusive, covering shore excursions, Wi-Fi, dining, and beverages in the fare. Although children aged four and older are welcomed, the absence of specialized children’s programming is intentional to maintain a relaxed environment for all guests.

The inaugural season will consist of 33 seven-night itineraries that will allow the ships to dock centrally in various European city centers.
