Norwegian Luna: NCL’s Newest Ship to Feature Concert-Style Tributes and Futuristic Theater Experiences

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is set to enhance its entertainment offerings with the upcoming launch of the Norwegian Luna in March 2026. The new ship will feature two major productions: "Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John," a concert-style tribute that incorporates archival video to celebrate Elton John’s remarkable career, and "HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder," a sci-fi experience that combines Cirque-style performances with mixed-reality visuals.

Developed by NCL’s Creative Studios in Tampa, these shows aim to attract a diverse audience, from die-hard fans of Elton John to families with varying ages. The Elton John tribute will showcase many of his classic hits such as “Rocket Man” and “Tiny Dancer,” with performances that include intricate choreography, vibrant costumes, grand pianos, and striking LED effects.

"HIKO," an original character, will be featured not only in the show but throughout various areas of the ship, accompanied by a team of gymnasts executing breathtaking stunts amidst immersive 3D visuals.

For younger guests, the ship will host "Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival," designed to spark curiosity and creativity, as well as "LunaTique," a sophisticated late-night program inspired by Las Vegas-style acts aimed at adults. The tribute to classic rock, "Syd Norman’s Presents: A Tribute to Eagles," will also revive timeless songs in a familiar venue setting.

Additionally, themed deck parties like "Island Nights," blending island rhythms with contemporary pop, and "Latin LIVE!," featuring live music and dance, will add excitement to evenings aboard the ship.

This entertainment initiative signals NCL’s strategic direction towards immersive, signature programming that aligns with the modern design and vision of its Prima Plus-class ships.
