Ponant, in collaboration with Smithsonian Journeys, has announced an exciting lineup for their 2027 collection of small-ship voyages aimed at combining luxury travel with enriching educational experiences. The new itineraries will take travelers to captivating destinations, including Lisbon, Cabo San Lucas, and Osaka.
Kicking off the series, a 10-night expedition will set sail from Cabo San Lucas on February 10, 2027. This journey will focus on the migration of whales, guided by marine and conservation biologists. Another highlight is a sailing from Lisbon on July 30, 2027, on board Le Boréal, where guests will have a unique opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse at sea, complete with geological insights throughout the trip.
Additional itineraries include an 8-night journey from Busan to Osaka, which will explore the rich cultural heritage of Japan and South Korea. Moreover, a 7-night adventure will traverse the Baltic Sea from Helsinki to Copenhagen, offering insights on UNESCO World Heritage sites. Other offerings span from the Great Lakes between Toronto and Milwaukee, to a classic Antarctic expedition starting in Ushuaia and a cultural voyage from Barcelona to Lisbon, highlighting the historical significance of southern Spain and Portugal.
