Century Cruises Launches Century Star for Exciting European Operations
Century Cruises is set to expand into Europe with its new vessel, the Century Star, which will begin operations on the Danube River in September 2026. This launch marks a significant step for the company, reflecting its mission, envisioned by Chairman Mr. Peng, to bring Eastern hospitality to Western markets.
David Fredericks, the president and general manager for The Americas, expressed pride in this accomplishment, highlighting the unique blend of elegance and sustainability that the Century Star exemplifies. The ship is designed with environmentally conscious features, including hybrid propulsion and a hull made from recycled steel, in compliance with European Union sustainability standards.
With a length of 134.99 meters, the Century Star will house 78 cabins, accommodating up to 174 guests for a refined cruising experience. The interiors, crafted by MDesigns, highlight the rich cultural diversity of the river’s landscape.
The inaugural eight-day cruise, titled the Blue Danube Cruise, will set sail from Budapest on September 18, 2026, visiting key destinations such as Esztergom, Bratislava, Vienna, Linz, and Passau. The cruise aims to offer immersive local experiences and convenient transportation via Century Cruises’ own buses, along with European dining aboard the ship.
Soon after, another route from Amsterdam to Basel is expected to be added, marking the next phase of Century Cruises’ growth in the European market. In addition, plans are underway to introduce services on the Nile River in Egypt by 2027. This ambitious expansion promises to enhance the company’s portfolio and elevate the cruising experience for travelers.
