Exciting Developments: Construction Begins on Philadelphia’s New Cruise Terminal!

PhilaPort has commenced the construction of the PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, a significant facility located on a 16-acre site near Philadelphia International Airport. This terminal is slated to be completed by April 2026 and aims to establish Philadelphia as a primary cruise travel gateway within the region.

Developed in partnership with Energy Transfer and Norwegian Cruise Line, the project showcases a collective belief in Philadelphia’s viability as a cruise hub. Norwegian Cruise Line intends to offer seasonal summer sailings to Bermuda and other destinations in Canada and New England from this terminal.

The initiative is projected to create 2,185 jobs, both directly and indirectly, and contribute around $300 million in economic benefits to Pennsylvania. From April 2026 through March 2033, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings will be the exclusive operator of the terminal, planning for 41 sailings each year.

Designed to enhance access to cruise experiences, the terminal will also emphasize Philadelphia’s rich history and culture. It represents a strategic investment in local tourism and cruise infrastructure, providing travelers with the convenience of embarking from the city while connecting them to various international destinations.
