Celestyal Cruises Wraps Up Mediterranean Season and Launches Exciting Two-Ship Deployment in the Arabian Gulf

Celestyal Cruises recently concluded a highly successful Mediterranean and Adriatic season, registering a 4% increase in passenger numbers and a notable 10% boost in revenue compared to 2024. Operating from April to November, the Greek cruise line utilized the Celestyal Journey for 10 “Heavenly Greece, Italy & Croatia” voyages and 22 “Idyllic Greece” itineraries, each encompassing seven ports over a week. Additionally, the Celestyal Discovery completed 69 sailings as part of its 3- and 4-night “Iconic Greek Islands” program.

A significant highlight for Celestyal Discovery this year was its adoption of a locally sourced marine biofuel blend, positioning it as the first cruise ship in Greek waters to utilize this eco-friendlier fuel. This initiative successfully reduced CO₂ emissions by approximately 21%.

As both vessels prepare to transition to the Arabian Gulf for the winter season, company officials expressed pride in the brand’s strong performance in 2025, characterized by fleet enhancements, itinerary diversification, and sustainable efforts. They reported unprecedented demand and revenue levels within their Mediterranean operations and expressed optimistic expectations for the upcoming Gulf season, recognizing the area as an increasingly attractive winter travel option.

The Arabian Gulf season is set to commence on December 6, 2025, when the Celestyal Journey departs for a voyage during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It will feature a 7-night "Desert Days" itinerary, stopping in Doha, Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain, with two full days and an overnight stay in Dubai.

Following the Celestyal Journey, the Celestyal Discovery will begin its inaugural season in the Arabian Gulf on December 12, 2025, launching a new range of 3-, 4-, and 7-night “Iconic Arabia” cruises. These will also depart from Abu Dhabi, including stops in Doha, Khasab, Dubai, and the newly added destination of Ras Al Khaimah.
