Oceania Sonata Set to Launch La Table and Nikkei Kitchen in 2027
Oceania Cruises has announced the launch of its new ship, Oceania Sonata, scheduled to debut in August 2027. This vessel will introduce two new dining venues: La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and Nikkei Kitchen.
La Table promises to be an exceptional fine-dining experience, recognized as the only restaurant at sea endorsed by the prestigious Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (MCF). With limited seating for just 18 guests each evening, the restaurant will feature a rotating menu curated by Executive Culinary Directors, Chefs Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale, both of whom are MCF members. Occasionally, the chefs will be joined by renowned Master Chefs from across the globe. This venue will also revive the popular Dom Pérignon Experience, offering a six-course tasting menu paired with vintage Champagne.
On the other hand, Nikkei Kitchen will embrace the fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cooking styles, showcasing fresh seafood, vibrant citrus, soy-based sauces, and spicy peppers. Chef Gustavo Sugay, who holds over 20 years of expertise in Nikkei cuisine, collaborated with Chefs Quaretti and Barale to develop the menus for this venue. Nikkei Kitchen will boast a contemporary, open-kitchen layout and will provide dining options on a first-come, first-served basis, without the need for reservations.
Oceania Sonata will be the inaugural ship of the new Sonata Class, accommodating up to 1,390 guests, with 30% of the accommodations sold as suites featuring private verandas. In addition to the new dining options, the ship will continue to offer Oceania’s classic signature dining experiences, merging traditional elements with innovative culinary offerings.
