Windstar Cruises Welcomes Its Latest All-Suite Yacht: The Star Seeker
Windstar Cruises has officially welcomed its newest all-suite yacht, Star Seeker, following a handover ceremony on December 15th at the WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. This 224-guest vessel is a pivotal addition to the cruise line’s Star Class, marking a significant milestone in its strategic fleet expansion.
The ceremony was attended by key members of Windstar’s leadership, including the president and chief operating officer, along with the ship’s captain and crew members who prepared the yacht for delivery. Representatives from the shipyard, which constructed the vessel, were also present to finalize the handover.
Post-delivery, Star Seeker is set to undergo final preparations for commercial service, embarking on a Transatlantic crossing from Málaga, Spain, to Miami later this December. The official christening will occur in Miami in mid-January 2026. Afterward, the yacht will operate initially in the Caribbean before transitioning to Alaska for summer cruises and exploring Japan and other Asian destinations.
Star Seeker boasts a luxurious design with 112 suites, many featuring private verandas or floor-to-ceiling infinity windows. The yacht includes expansive open decks, various dining options, and upgraded marina and wellness facilities. It is equipped with modern sustainable technologies such as Tier III emissions-rated engines, shore power capabilities, advanced wastewater treatment systems, pump-jet thrusters, and sonar systems.
Windstar will soon expand its fleet further with a sister ship, Star Explorer, scheduled for delivery in December 2026. This continued growth allows Windstar Cruises to maintain its focus on personalized service and the agile deployment of its yacht-style vessels in both traditional and off-the-beaten-path cruising regions.
