World Legacy Preview Voyages Postponed Days Before Departure: What You Need to Know
Plans for the inaugural sailings of the newly refurbished World Legacy, formerly known as the Moby Zaza ferry, have faced unexpected changes just days before its scheduled departure. Marketed as a hybrid "cruise and lifestyle" destination by World Cruises, the vessel was set to operate out of Singapore starting mid-December 2025. However, the preview voyages, which were slated to start between December 19th and 22nd, have been postponed.
Passengers who had booked these early sailings received notification on December 17th, stating that their cruises would not occur as planned due to "operational requirements." Affected passengers will receive full refunds and future cruise credits (FCCs) for the inconvenience.
The cancellations specifically impact preview excursions, as promotions suggested that World Legacy would commence operations from the Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront and Puteri Harbour in Johor Bahru starting December 18th, providing flexible stays ranging from a few hours to overnight visits.
Many customers who organized travel plans, sometimes involving large family groups and pre-arranged accommodations, expressed dissatisfaction upon learning of the postponement shortly before their embarkation dates. This situation has created significant challenges for rescheduling or securing alternative voyages, especially given the limited availability on later dates.
Feedback on social media platforms has reflected the frustrations of disappointed travelers who encountered last-minute cancellations and are awaiting refunds for cancelled trips.
World Cruises characterized this decision as an adjustment to the initial launch schedule, but details regarding the operational challenges leading to this decision remain unclear. The company reassured customers that refunds are being processed and that their customer service teams are accessible to assist passengers in follow-up, including the issuance of cruise credits redeemable within the next year.
The World Legacy was originally a cruiseferry, repurposed and renovated to function as a "floating lifestyle destination," equipped with various cabins, dining options, entertainment, and leisure facilities. It aims to cater to both short visits and longer stays from Singapore or nearby Malaysian ports.
This postponement marks an early operational adjustment for World Cruises as they work to integrate World Legacy into the regional cruise market, with booking availability indicating that sailings from December 23rd onward are still open for reservations. The current shipowner is reported to be the Singapore-based Dragon 1 Pte Ltd.
