MSC Cruises Launches Sales for 2027-2028 Transatlantic Repositioning Itineraries to South America
MSC Cruises has announced the opening of bookings for its 2027–2028 winter deployment, featuring a series of trans-Atlantic repositioning voyages from Europe to South America. These itineraries incorporate several days at sea, alongside ports of call in Europe, the Atlantic islands, and South America.
The journeys, ranging from 17 to 20 nights, aim to connect European departure ports with destinations in Brazil and Argentina. Planned stops include Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and select Atlantic islands before voyaging across the ocean to South American ports. Five MSC ships will undertake these voyages, enhancing the company’s established presence in the South American market.
The repositioning cruises focus on longer sea passages, a slower pace, and a more extensive geographic experience. By announcing these itineraries over a year in advance, MSC Cruises aims to allow passengers greater flexibility in planning extended vacations and securing international travel documents tied to embarkation and disembarkation ports.

Each vessel is designated a unique route featuring various ports and experiences. Departures are set for late October and mid-November 2027, with subsequent operations within South America throughout the winter months.
The first sailing for the season is on October 29, 2027, when MSC Divina departs from Civitavecchia on an 18-night voyage to Santos. The itinerary combines Mediterranean destinations, such as Barcelona, with Brazilian ports, including Salvador, Ilhéus, and Ilha Grande.
MSC Musica is scheduled for a November 6, 2027, departure from Genoa on a 17-night crossing to Santos. This trip highlights Southern European and Atlantic island ports, such as Marseille, Valencia, and Funchal, followed by the trans-Atlantic journey to Brazil.
On November 6, 2027, MSC Sinfonia will also depart from Genoa for an 18-night itinerary to Santos, featuring ports like Marseille, Tarragona, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Recife, merging Mediterranean cities, Atlantic islands, and northeastern Brazil.
Finally, MSC Virtuosa will set sail on November 16, 2027, from Barcelona, stopping at various Spanish ports before heading to Brazilian locales like Maceió, Salvador, and Ilhabela, arriving in Santos in early December. Meanwhile, MSC Splendida, departing Civitavecchia on the same day, will conduct a 19-night cruise culminating in Buenos Aires, featuring a diverse itinerary across Spain, Brazil, and Uruguay.
