Norwegian Cruise Line Set to Launch Two Prima-Class Ships from Puerto Rico in 2027-28

Norwegian Cruise Line is set to expand its presence in Puerto Rico during the 2027-28 winter season by deploying two of its Prima-class ships, the Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time both ships will operate out of San Juan.

From November 13, 2027, to April 22, 2028, the Norwegian Prima will offer weekly cruises every Saturday, visiting several Caribbean destinations including Road Town in the British Virgin Islands, Philipsburg in St. Maarten, Bridgetown in Barbados, Castries in St. Lucia, Basseterre in St. Kitts, and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Meanwhile, the Norwegian Viva will set sail from Puerto Rico on Sundays, focusing on the Southern Caribbean with stops in Aruba, Curaçao, and more.

Norwegian’s itineraries for this season are designed for deeper exploration, featuring an average port time of 9.5 hours across various stops. Over 370 departures are planned during this season, offering itineraries ranging from two to 22 days to 144 destinations in 47 countries.

In addition to the new homeporting efforts in Puerto Rico, Norwegian plans to have a robust lineup in Florida, with seven ships sailing from various ports, including Miami and Port Canaveral. Additionally, cruises will also be departing from Galveston and New Orleans, while the Norwegian Jade will return to Asia, and Norwegian Spirit will operate in Australia and New Zealand.
