Azamara Journey Sets Sail on Exclusive Cruise to the Enchanting Vanilla Islands and East Africa
The Azamara Journey began its exciting 16-night cruise on January 4, departing from Port Louis, Mauritius, embarking on a unique itinerary that explores East Africa and the Indian Ocean. This journey includes stops at several stunning destinations, including the Vanilla Islands, and highlights Madagascar, Mayotte, Zanzibar, and Mombasa.
The cruise initially features visits to two ports in Madagascar: Diego Suarez and Nosy Be, followed by a stop at Mayotte in Comoros. During its African segment, the ship will anchor overnight in both Zanzibar, Tanzania, and Mombasa, Kenya. The final leg of the journey encompasses three locations in the Seychelles—La Digue, Praslin Island, and Mahé—before returning to Port Louis. Throughout this cruise, passengers will also enjoy eight days of scenic sailing across the expansive Indian Ocean.
After concluding this itinerary, the Azamara Journey is set to navigate a 14-night cruise to South Africa, departing from Port Louis and including stops in Saint-Denis in Réunion and Fort Dauphin in Madagascar, alongside visits to four South African ports: Richard’s Bay, Durban, Port Elizabeth, and Mossel Bay.
Following its winter season in Africa, the ship will embark on a repositioning route to the Canary Islands in early February, featuring stops at Saint Helena, Dakar in Senegal, and Banjul in Gambia. Upon its return to Europe, the Azamara Journey will then schedule a series of spring cruises to the Canary Islands, Iberia, and the Mediterranean, eventually transitioning into summer itineraries across Northern Europe, Iceland, Canada, and New England.
