MSC Poesia to Wrap Up Passenger Services Early for Upcoming Refurbishment

MSC Poesia will end its passenger operations ahead of schedule, concluding its current voyage in Southampton on February 13, 2026, instead of wrapping up in Valletta on February 23 as originally planned. Although MSC Cruises has not publicly stated the reasons for this change, the adjustment is a precursor to the ship entering a dry dock for maintenance at the Palumbo Shipyard in Malta.

Passengers booked on sailings between February 8 and 13, 2026, departing from locations like Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, and Southampton, have been informed that their cruises will not take place. Affected passengers can cancel their bookings without penalty or make alternative arrangements.

This revised schedule signifies an earlier end to MSC Poesia’s deployments in Europe for the foreseeable future. After repositioning, the vessel is set to assist MSC Cruises’ efforts to expand in North America. Starting in the spring, MSC Poesia will begin a series of westward voyages to Seattle, marking the start of the cruise line’s inaugural Alaska season. In the future, the ship is expected to focus on the U.S. market, offering itineraries in Alaska during the summer and Caribbean cruises over the winter months.
