Silver Muse Makes a Splash: Returns to Service After Major Refit in Palermo
Silversea Cruises’ Silver Muse has officially resumed service following a significant refit at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Palermo, Italy. The refurbishment has resulted in enhancements to the ship’s infrastructure and an increase in passenger capacity.
The refit involved reconfiguring accommodations on Decks 9, 10, and 11, replacing several larger suites with smaller staterooms. This change raised the ship’s overall capacity by approximately 7%, allowing the Silver Muse to welcome 632 passengers.
A prominent new feature onboard is the S.A.L.T. dining concept, which occupies Deck 4. This venue replaces the previous Indochine Asian specialty restaurant and focuses on menus inspired by the ship’s travel destinations. It includes a bar that serves regionally themed beverages and wines. To facilitate this addition, the main dining room, La Dolce Vita, was downsized during the refit.
Originally delivered in 2017, Silver Muse is the flagship of Silversea’s Muse-class, which also includes the Silver Moon and Silver Dawn. This marks the ship’s first major update since its launch.
After completing the refurbishment, Silver Muse departed for a 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia, visiting cities such as Valencia, Barcelona, Genoa, and Marseille. The ship will also operate voyages between Barcelona and Lisbon, including a festive itinerary that features stops in the Canary Islands, Iberia, and Morocco, with a highlight being a scheduled visit to Funchal on December 31, 2025, to enjoy the local New Year’s Eve fireworks.
Following these voyages, Silver Muse will continue to operate its winter schedule in the Mediterranean.
