Chef Karime López Takes the Helm of Aqua Lares’ Culinary Programme
Aqua Expeditions has announced that Chef Karime López will spearhead the culinary program aboard the Aqua Lares, an ultra-luxury superyacht set to launch in the Seychelles in February 2026. As the Consulting Chef, López will craft menus that reflect the diverse destinations the yacht will explore while enhancing the expedition-focused experience.
Originally from Mexico, Chef López has built an impressive career shaped by her cultural heritage and formal culinary training in Paris. After gaining experience in prestigious kitchens worldwide, she made history in 2018 by becoming the first Mexican woman to earn a Michelin star for her role at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Florence.
Under her guidance, the dining experience on Aqua Lares will emphasize regional cuisine inspired by the areas visited by the yacht, integrating Mediterranean traditions with coastal Creole influences. Planned dishes will focus on grilled meats seasoned with local spices, seafood dishes based on refined marine stocks, and expertly balanced plates showcasing the flavors of each region. López’s philosophy revolves around emphasizing clarity of taste, meticulous technique, and a deep connection between food and its origins.
