Emerald Kaia Successfully Completes Sea Trials in Vietnam

Emerald Cruises & Tours has announced a major milestone in the construction of the Emerald Kaia, as the ship successfully completed its sea trials in Halong Bay, Vietnam. This achievement brings the new yacht closer to its expected entry into service in early April 2026.

The company emphasized that these trials affirm Scenic Group’s dedication to quality and innovation, ensuring a unique luxury cruising experience across its fleet. The sea trials showcased the vessel’s performance, maneuverability, and overall seaworthiness, which were deemed excellent by Emerald.

James Griffiths, Scenic Group’s general manager of ocean operations, expressed pride in the project team, stating that the successful trials confidently progress them toward the final commissioning phase. The Emerald Kaia will navigate an 11-night itinerary, commencing from Cyprus to Greece.

With the sea trials complete, final fittings and delivery are the next steps for the ship. The Emerald Kaia will add to the fleet that currently includes the Emerald Azzurra and the Emerald Sakara, with plans for the Emerald Raiya in 2027 and the Emerald Xara in 2028.

Designed for a "relaxed luxury yacht experience," Emerald Kaia will accommodate up to 128 guests. It features expansive lounges, terraces, decks, and diverse suite options. Notable amenities include a new observation sun deck with a spa pool, an indoor/outdoor gym, and a marina platform. The ship will also introduce new dining experiences, including a redesigned La Cucina and a new Night Market Grill.
