Windstar Cruises Unveils Star Seeker After Spectacular Miami Christening Ceremony
Windstar Cruises has officially welcomed the Star Seeker to its fleet with a christening ceremony in Miami. This event marked the ship’s official entry into service and was followed by its inaugural 8-night voyage from Miami to San Juan, featuring stops in the Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.
The Star Seeker, designed to accommodate 224 guests, will initially sail in the Caribbean before making its way to Alaska. Future itineraries include visits to Japan and various Southeast Asian locations, showcasing Windstar’s commitment to unique, destination-oriented journeys for its small-ship fleet.
Libby Anschutz, daughter of Windstar’s owner Phil Anschutz, served as the ship’s godmother during the ceremony. This familial connection continues a tradition, as Libby’s mother, Nancy Anschutz, was previously the godmother to Star Pride. Moreover, her sister, Sarah Anschutz, is set to christen the Star Explorer (currently known as World Explorer) in London in June 2027.
Following the ceremony, Windstar’s President highlighted the line’s distinctive onboard atmosphere, which is fostered by its attentive crew. He emphasized that the personal interactions and attention to detail, rooted in the company’s legacy of sailing-ship heritage, significantly enhance the guest experience on board.
