Disney Adventure: DCL’s Largest Ship Successfully Completes Transatlantic Crossing Ahead of Singapore Homeporting
DCL’s largest ship, Disney Adventure, successfully completed its transatlantic crossing on January 15, 2026, arriving at Port Canaveral, Florida. This pivotal moment marks a significant milestone in the expansion of Disney Cruise Line’s fleet.
The journey from its German shipyard to Florida lasted nearly two weeks and is part of a repositioning voyage. This follows the company’s decision to delay the ship’s debut from late 2025 to March 2026. Disney Adventure, which will be the largest vessel operated by DCL and its first to be homeported in Asia, signifies a new direction for the cruise line.
Disney Adventure is set to remain in Port Canaveral until January 27 and will then proceed to Los Angeles and Tokyo before reaching its final destination in Singapore. The 6,700-passenger vessel is scheduled to begin service on March 10, 2026, featuring a unique inaugural program of 3- and 4-night cruises that emphasize sea days.
Designed to be a self-sustaining destination, Disney Adventure boasts seven themed districts inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Marvel franchises. Each area integrates entertainment, dining, and recreational spaces, ensuring that the ship itself becomes a primary attraction.
This launch follows the recent introduction of Disney Destiny, which is currently offering 4- and 5-night itineraries in the Bahamas and the western Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale. Disney Destiny also features concepts inspired by beloved Disney franchises, serving as a precursor to the Asian deployment of Disney Adventure.
The addition of these ships aligns with Disney Cruise Line’s long-term growth strategy, which projects an expansion of its fleet to 13 ships by 2031. Future plans include a new Wish-class vessel set for delivery in 2027, as well as the launch of an entirely new ship class in 2029, coinciding with Disney’s cruise operations initiation from Japan.
