MSC Group Launches North American Headquarters in Miami: A New Chapter Begins
MSC Cruises has officially opened its new North American headquarters in Downtown Miami, specifically at Sawyer’s Walk development. The 130,000 square-foot space occupies the entire 7th floor of Block 55 and represents a significant investment of about USD 100 million. The headquarters consolidates over 400 employees from various group entities into a single operational hub.
The inauguration ceremony took place on January 26, 2026, with key attendees including Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins, and MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago.
Rubén A. Rodríguez, CEO of MSC’s North American Cruise Division, emphasized that the new headquarters marks the company’s ambitious plans for both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys. He noted that bringing the teams together will enhance collaboration, innovation, and alignment, all aimed at supporting fleet expansion and increasing guest capacity as well as strengthening the company’s presence in U.S. homeports.
According to an analysis by the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the new office is expected to add 1,500 jobs within three years and is projected to generate around USD 300 million in annual economic impact for the county. This growth will affect various sectors, including hospitality, infrastructure, and logistics.
The establishment of the headquarters highlights the ongoing partnership between MSC Group, local government, PortMiami, and development partners, which further solidifies Miami’s role as a key hub for cruise tourism and international business.
This new operational base follows other significant investments by the MSC Group in the region, including the completion of North America’s largest cruise terminal at PortMiami. Additionally, the upcoming launch of the flagship MSC World America from this homeport reinforces South Florida’s importance in the company’s North American strategy.
