
An outbreak of gastrointestinal illness on a luxury cruise ship has affected 27 passengers, including six crew members. The incident occurred on the Regent Seven Seas cruise ship, which was traveling from Miami to Honolulu between January 11 and February 1, as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The illnesses were first detected on January 29, but the exact cause remains unidentified. In response to the outbreak, the cruise line took measures to isolate the affected individuals and enhance sanitation protocols on board. This outbreak marks the first reported incident of illness on a cruise ship in 2026. The current health status of those who fell ill has not been disclosed.
