Carnival Issues Cold Weather Advisory for Guests in Norfolk
Carnival Cruise Line has alerted its guests about potential cold weather conditions in Norfolk, Virginia, prior to the embarkation of the Carnival Sunshine on February 7, 2026. This particular cruise, part of the line’s year-round schedule along the U.S. East Coast, will see the 1996-built ship departing from its homeport.
In its notification, Carnival emphasized the importance of dressing in layers as temperatures are expected to be significantly low. The company reassured passengers that measures would be taken to warm the internal spaces of the ship while it is docked in Norfolk.
Guests were also reminded to keep their pre-selected check-in times in mind, stressing that everyone must board by the final time listed on their boarding passes.
The upcoming itinerary promises an eight-night roundtrip cruise to destinations in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, which includes a stop at Carnival Corporation’s private island, RelaxAway at Half Moon Cay, along with visits to Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos, and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic.
Due to adverse weather conditions affecting the area, the Carnival Sunshine recently adjusted its schedule, returning to Norfolk a day earlier than planned to avoid an impending winter storm. This decision also impacted other vessels, including the Carnival Pride, which modified its itinerary to return to Baltimore in light of the weather forecast.
