Azamara Cruises has relaunched its Azamara Ashore land program, expanding its Destination Immersion® concept to allow for greater exploration beyond traditional seafaring journeys. This initiative invites passengers to engage in pre-cruise and post-cruise land explorations that deepen their connection with the ports they visit and the regions around them.
Between 2026 and 2028, Azamara plans to introduce 17 new land tours, which will increase its total offerings to 64. These tours will span various continents including Africa, Oceania, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Designed to maximize time ashore, the programs will provide organized stays that comprise transfers, accommodations, and curated experiences that showcase local culture, history, and environments.
Highlights of the program include immersive city stays, typically lasting two nights, allowing travelers to connect more intimately with urban centers and their cultural sites. There will also be extended journeys of three to six nights that combine multiple local experiences, featuring guided tours, regional heritage, and local cuisine.
To enhance the convenience of transitioning from land to sea, Azamara has formed partnerships with services that manage luggage delivery to hotels or cabins. This relaunch is part of a broader trend in small-ship cruising, emphasizing extended time ashore and cultural immersion alongside traditional cruise itineraries.
