Viking Unveils Exciting New Mississippi and Ohio River Cruise Itineraries for 2027
In preparation for the 2027 cruise season, Viking River Cruises has unveiled two new itineraries highlighting the scenic rivers of North America. These routes will be sailed aboard the Viking Mississippi, a spacious riverboat designed for comfort.
The first itinerary, dubbed "Bayous, Blues & Bluegrass," extends over 15 days and travels from New Orleans to Louisville, Kentucky. This voyage will traverse various ports along the Mississippi, starting in New Orleans and stopping in Darrow, St. Francisville, and Baton Rouge. The journey continues to Natchez, Vicksburg, and Greenville before reaching Memphis, Tennessee, where the cruise transitions to the Ohio River. The final five days will see travelers exploring the Ohio River, visiting Paducah, Henderson, Owensboro, and ultimately arriving in Louisville.
The second itinerary offers a shorter, 8-day cruise between Memphis and Louisville, following a similar path without revisiting New Orleans.
Reservations for Viking’s new 2027 river voyages along the Mississippi and Ohio are now open, including these new routes along with a previously announced 22-day Mississippi River Odyssey that extends beyond the Ohio confluence, plus a variety of shorter 8-day itineraries covering different sections of the Mississippi.
