Paul Gauguin Cruises Unveils Exciting 2028 Schedule Under PONANT Ownership
Paul Gauguin Cruises, a subsidiary of PONANT, has revealed its 2028 sailing schedule featuring 39 all-inclusive voyages ranging from 7 to 14 nights, available for booking now. These journeys will explore the Society Islands, Tuamotus, Marquesas, Cook Islands, and other locations throughout the South Pacific. Initial booking fares start at approximately $2,880 per person, with savings of up to 30%.
The m/s Paul Gauguin, the ship designated for these voyages, is uniquely designed with a shallow draft, allowing it to enter smaller ports and atolls inaccessible to larger vessels. The itinerary includes multiple overnight stays, particularly two nights at the tranquil Fakarava coral atoll on select sailings, as well as visits to Tahuata, the smallest inhabited island in the Marquesas.
Samuel Chamberlain, CEO Americas of Ponant Explorations Group, emphasized that the program is crafted for travelers seeking deeper cultural connections and a respectful exploration of the environment. The well-curated itineraries are based on almost three decades of experience and strong relationships with local communities. They aim to cater to a variety of schedules and interests.
The m/s Paul Gauguin accommodates up to 330 guests, providing a blend of elegant and relaxed ambiance, supported by a crew-to-guest ratio of about 1:1.5. Over 70% of the accommodations feature private balconies, and the ship’s offerings are heavily influenced by Polynesian culture, including music and storytelling led by the onboard resident hosts, Les Gauguines.
The inaugural sailing of the 2028 season features a 7-night cruise among the Society Islands, allowing for three overnight stays and visits to key locations such as Tahiti, Huahine, Taha’a, Bora Bora, and Moorea. Another variant focuses on sacred Raiatea and the lush scenery of Huahine.
Longer voyages, ranging from 10 to 14 nights, will delve into the Tuamotus, allowing exploration of the lagoons of Fakarava and Rangiroa, as well as the cultural abundance of the Society Islands. An 11-night cruise includes stops in the Cook Islands at Rarotonga and Aitutaki before returning to Bora Bora and Moorea. The longest journey combines the Marquesas, Tuamotus, and Society Islands, providing ample time to enjoy the stunning beaches and engaging in both leisurely and adventurous activities above and below water. One option even features a visit to Tahuata instead of Ua Pou.
