Paul Gauguin Cruises Unveils Exciting 2028 Itinerary under PONANT Ownership
Paul Gauguin Cruises, a fully-owned subsidiary of PONANT, has unveiled its 2028 voyage schedule featuring 39 all-inclusive sailings lasting between 7 to 14 nights. The itineraries span the breathtaking Society Islands, Tuamotus, Marquesas, Cook Islands, and more within the South Pacific region. Guests can make reservations starting at approximately $2,880 per person, with discounts available up to 30%.
The m/s Paul Gauguin, specifically designed with a shallow draft, can access atolls and smaller islands where larger ships cannot dock. The upcoming schedule includes multiple overnight stays, particularly two days at the serene coral atoll of Fakarava for select departures, and special events on Tahuata, the smallest inhabited island in Marquesas.
CEO Samuel Chamberlain emphasized that the 2028 voyages are tailored for travelers eager to deeply connect with local cultures, respect the environment, and feel the spiritual essence, or mana, of the region. Each port visit and onboard program has been carefully designed, drawing on nearly 30 years of experience in these waters and strong relationships with indigenous communities. The diverse itinerary lengths aim to meet various preferences and timeframes.
The m/s Paul Gauguin accommodates up to 330 guests, offering a refined yet relaxed atmosphere with a crew-to-guest ratio of about 1:1.5. More than 70% of staterooms and suites come with private balconies. Cultural experiences, including music and storytelling, are woven into the cruise, with performances by the resident troupe of Tahitian hosts known as Les Gauguines.
The 2028 schedule’s flagship journey is a 7-night exploration of the Society Islands that includes three overnight stays and stops at Tahiti, Huahine, Taha’a, Bora Bora, and Moorea. Another 7-night option highlights the sacred island of Raiatea, the lush Huahine, and an overnight stay under the Bora Bora peaks.
For those seeking longer voyages, the itineraries extend to 10 and 11 nights, covering the lagoons of Fakarava and Rangiroa while exploring the Society Islands’ natural and cultural wealth. An 11-night trip combines the Society Islands with the Cook Islands, visiting Rarotonga and Aitutaki, before returning to the stunning waters of Bora Bora and Moorea.
The most extensive itinerary spans 14 nights, connecting the Marquesas, Tuamotus, and Society Islands. This voyage offers ample opportunity for guests to enjoy pristine beaches, secluded coves, and both leisurely and adventurous activities in and out of the water. One variation of this route includes a stop at Tahuata, replacing Ua Pou.
