Princess Cruises Sets Guinness World Record for the Most Margaritas Served Aboard Regal Princess

Princess Cruises has set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most margaritas sold in an 8-hour period aboard the Regal Princess. This accomplishment took place during the National Margarita Day celebrations on February 17th, where the ship sold an impressive 3,410 handcrafted 24K Margaritas made with Pantalones Organic Blanco Tequila. This surpassed the previous record of 2,728.

The record-breaking event unfolded while the Regal Princess, which has a capacity for 3,560 guests, was docked in Cozumel as part of a 7-day Western Caribbean itinerary that began in Galveston, Texas. Throughout the day, the ship’s bars collaborated to create a festive atmosphere focused on the popular cocktail.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to confirm the record-setting achievement, noting the lively environment across the vessel that distinguished this coordinated effort.

The accomplishment aligns with a significant commercial achievement for Princess Cruises’ partnership with Pantalones Organic Tequila. From January 1st, 2025, to January 7th, 2026, over 1,038,000 units of the 24K Margarita were sold fleet-wide. Following the partnership’s launch in October 2024, the cocktail has become the most popular drink on the cruise line.

This milestone follows the recent naming ceremony of the Star Princess, where Camila and Matthew McConaughey served as godparents and symbolically blessed the ship with tequila, marking a positive start for its journeys.

Princess Cruises representatives remarked that the beverage program is crafted to enhance the onboard experience by integrating storytelling, hospitality, and brand partnerships. The dual achievement of surpassing one million sales and setting a Guinness World Record during this period underscores the strong engagement from passengers.

Pantalones Organic Tequila, available in various expressions, is featured in the fleet’s bar offerings, enhancing the cocktail options for guests. In addition to the 24K Margarita, other cocktails created with the tequila have also gained popularity, showcasing innovative combinations that appeal to guests. The introduction of a mobile tequila cart on board even allows for customized cocktail preparation, further promoting the collaboration.
