Port Ancona Unveils 2026 Cruise Schedule Kicking Off with Viking Star
The 2026 cruise season at Port Ancona in Italy kick-started with the arrival of the Viking Star from Venice on February 19th. This event marks the beginning of an 11-month schedule that anticipates 45 vessel visits, running until early December.
The choice of Viking Star to commence and conclude the season underscores the significant role of Viking OCEAN in offering premium, culturally focused itineraries that resonate with the historical and architectural richness of Ancona and the surrounding Marche region.
Following this inaugural visit, the port will see regular arrivals of the MSC Lirica starting in early April, with weekly calls expected until late October, constituting a total of 30 visits from MSC Cruises. This pattern reinforces Ancona’s established position on Adriatic and Eastern Mediterranean cruise itineraries.
In addition to Viking and MSC, the season will feature a variety of other cruise companies such as Marella Cruises, Ponant, Club Med, and Polar Cruises, contributing to a diverse lineup.
