Viking Star Kicks Off Port Ancona’s 2026 Cruise Schedule
The 2026 cruise season at Port Ancona in Italy kick-started with the arrival of the Viking Star on February 19th, marking an 11-month scheduled program that anticipates 45 vessel visits until early December.
Viking Star’s return for both the opening and closing of the season highlights the importance of Viking OCEAN’s culturally immersive itineraries, which align with the rich historical and architectural appeal of Ancona and its surrounding Marche region.
Following this opening visit, operations will see MSC Lirica making weekly calls beginning in early April, continuing through to late October, including a total of 30 port visits by MSC Cruises. This ongoing partnership reinforces Port Ancona’s significance in the Adriatic and Eastern Mediterranean cruise routes.
In addition to Viking and MSC, a variety of cruise lines will also call at the port, including Marella Cruises, Ponant, Club Med, and Polar Cruises, showcasing an expansive range of offerings in the coming season.
This extended cruise schedule aligns with the goals of the port authority to maintain activity throughout the year and to weave cruise tourism into the greater regional economy, helping to strengthen its competitive status within the Mediterranean cruise market.
