Sevilla Cruise Port Kicks Off 2026 Season with New 25-Year Concession Agreement

Sevilla Cruise Port has officially commenced its 2026 season, marking the beginning of a new management era under a 25-year concession granted to Global Ports Holding (GPH) and Ocean Platform Marinas, in collaboration with the Sevilla Port Authority. This partnership aims to manage both cruise and megayacht activities, enhancing Sevilla’s appeal in the tourism sector.

The season kickoff featured the arrival of the Azamara Journey, which brought around 670 passengers, primarily from the USA and Canada, and approximately 400 crew members, for a two-night stay at the city center. This event highlights a robust schedule ahead, with nearly 90 vessel calls planned from February to December, including the Belle de Cadix, based in Sevilla, and four vessels making inaugural visits.

Rafael Carmona, President of the Sevilla Port Authority, emphasized the importance of having experienced operators at the helm to further establish the port as a premier destination for cruises and megayachts, focused on sustainability and premium visitor experiences. He was joined during the event by Angie Moreno, a Councillor for Tourism at the Sevilla City Council, along with officials from GPH and Ocean Platform Marinas.

With the new structure in place, Beatrice Rasmini has been appointed as General Manager of Sevilla Cruise Port. Her responsibilities encompass day-to-day operations and implementing a comprehensive investment strategy aimed at enhancing services and infrastructure, thus aligning the port’s functionalities with Sevilla’s cultural reputation.

Francesc Grau, Regional Director for GPH, remarked on the intentions to apply established operational standards to enhance the overall visitor experience at the port. Similarly, Ignacio del Río, from Ocean Capital Partners, pointed out the growing demand for ports like Sevilla that can merge technical efficiency with specialized services while being closely integrated with the city.

The management plan includes significant updates to operational procedures, service customization for individual vessels, and facility modernization. Notably, over €5 million is slated for improving the existing terminal and constructing a new one in the Urban Port District as operations shift there.
