Virgin Launches 1,500 AI Agents to Enhance Guest Experience

Virgin Voyages has significantly expanded its use of artificial intelligence, launching over 1,500 AI agents throughout its operations. This increase is nearly 2,900% from just 50 AI agents when they first began collaborating with Google Cloud in October 2025. The cruise line is on track to fully adopt the Gemini Enterprise system across its organization by the end of Q2 2026.

The implementation of AI has contributed to record sales and revenue growth for the company in January and February 2026, alongside a 60% reduction in content production time. Virgin emphasizes that the AI initiative aims to enable crew members to dedicate more time to enhancing guest experiences rather than replacing them.

CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu expressed that the commitment to AI fluency is aimed at fostering growth and connection with guests, positioning technology as a tool for alleviating mundane tasks. “Our mission aligns with that of Google Cloud, making this partnership transformative for our operations,” he stated.

The AI agents serve a variety of purposes across departments, including marketing, sales, crew training, and customer service. Notable examples include Email Ellie, which assists with communications, and an AI replica of the CEO, Ask Nirmal Anything. Additional functionalities include sentiment analysis, cultural trend tracking, report summarization, negotiation, project management, and logistics.

CMO Nathan Rosenberg pointed out that the goal is not merely efficient service but to create a unique and memorable experience for guests.
