Aroya Cruises Wraps Up Inaugural Arabian Gulf Season Earlier Than Planned

Aroya Cruises has officially announced the early termination of its inaugural winter season in the Arabian Gulf, concluding its operations ahead of schedule. The season, which began on February 21st, will not continue for the remaining voyages planned through May 8th.

This decision was made based on operational considerations and in coordination with the relevant maritime and national authorities. On March 7th, all passengers aboard the vessel were safely disembarked in Dubai. They remained on board while Aroya coordinated their onward travel arrangements with airline partners and local authorities.

The company emphasized that passenger safety and well-being dictated the disembarkation process. Aroya’s operational teams continue to support guests with their travel plans as they arrange for onward transportation.

During the season, Aroya Cruises operated 7-night itineraries across the Arabian Gulf, visiting ports such as Khasab, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Sir Bani Yas Island. Aroya’s adjustment to its schedule mirrors similar decisions made by other cruise operators in the region, including Celestyal, MSC Cruises, and TUI Cruises.

Celestyal had deployed Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Discovery in the region but has since canceled the remainder of its winter voyages. Celestyal Discovery will reposition to Athens for its scheduled Mediterranean program. Guests affected by these cancellations have been offered a full refund or future cruise credit.

MSC Cruises also suspended operations of MSC Euribia, which is currently docked in Dubai. After canceling its March 7th sailing, the company has also withdrawn three additional 7-night departures planned for March 14th, 21st, and 28th.

Meanwhile, TUI Cruises announced the cancellation of its remaining Gulf departures set to sail from Dubai and Doha at the end of February and early March. These operational changes reflect the ongoing challenges faced by cruise operators in assessing conditions and coordinating with authorities regarding vessel movements and passenger logistics.
