The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Luminara Unveils Exciting Expanded Program for 2027

The luxury mega-yacht Luminara, part of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, is set to launch an expanded program of voyages for the 2027 season. This new cruise initiative will introduce itineraries in Alaska and Asia, in addition to Transpacific relocation crossings connecting these regions.

The schedule includes fifteen Alaska voyages, four Pacific crossings, and two extended trips merging North America’s northern waters with Asian ports. The routes are designed to navigate both popular tourist destinations and more secluded harbors often overlooked by larger cruise lines.

In Alaska, the cruises will operate between Vancouver and Whittier for a duration of 7 to 9 nights, primarily along the Inside Passage. This scenic route spans over 500 miles through stunning glacial waterways framed by forests. Some itineraries will venture into Tracy Arm Fjord, allowing guests to witness glacier descents into the sea and offering optional private flights for close-up aerial views of ice fields. Additionally, during the salmon running season, the cruises will visit smaller ports like Wrangell and Klawock, where bear sightings are more frequent.

On the Asian leg of the itinerary, the yacht will call at several key regional ports, including Seoul, Tianjin—serving as the main access point to Beijing and the Great Wall of China—as well as the Japanese ports of Otaru and Akita. A notable itinerary will be a 10-night journey from Tokyo to Seoul, featuring views of Mount Fuji and visits to coastal temples. Passengers will enjoy a two-day stop in Beijing to explore the Forbidden City, along with excursions to Osaka’s famous Dotonbori district and several UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Ernesto Fara, the president and CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, expressed that the summer of 2027 aboard the Luminara is aimed at enhancing exploration by sea. The program focuses on increased Alaskan voyages combined with newly added Asian destinations, maintaining a commitment to luxury accommodation and personalized service. The schedule aims to give guests the experience of two diverse geographical regions in a well-structured cruising timetable.

As the newest addition to the fleet, Luminara will join its sister ships Evrima and Ilma, having been delivered in July 2025. The yacht features 226 suites, all with private terraces, along with amenities reflective of the brand’s signature hotel services, including a Ritz-Carlton branded spa, a marina with direct water access, several pools, and various dining options.

With other hospitality brands, such as Four Seasons, Aman, and Orient Express, also venturing into ocean-going fleets, Luminara enters service amid a new wave of hotel-operated cruise yachts, setting the stage for a unique maritime travel experience.
