TUI River Cruises to Welcome New Ship TUI Elara in 2027: Fleet Expansion Announcement
TUI River Cruises is set to enhance its offerings with the addition of a new riverboat, named TUI Elara, scheduled to enter service in the summer of 2027. This will mark the fifth ship in the company’s European fleet.
The TUI Elara, whose name means “bright” in Greek, will serve various itineraries across prominent European waterways, departing from key ports including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Basel. Notably, it will operate as an adults-only vessel, featuring 5-, 7-, and 14-night voyages.
In total, TUI Elara is expected to navigate 15 unique itineraries, introducing new routes along the Rhine, Moselle, and the inland waterways of the Netherlands and Belgium. Some highlighted itineraries will include Grand Rhine Delights, Rhine Delights, and the Dutch & Belgian Gems, along with a first-ever stop at Brussels.
Katy Berzins from TUI stated that the launch of TUI Elara aligns with the company’s initiative to grow its fleet as it approaches five years of operation. The decision to expand is driven by continuous demand for immersive travel experiences, providing passengers with the chance to explore a multitude of rivers and locations in one journey.
Berzins pointed out that TUI River Cruises has demonstrated strong occupancy rates and high customer satisfaction in recent seasons, thereby solidifying its place in the river cruise market and justifying the fleet’s modernization and expansion strategy.
