Costa Cruises Adjusts Winter 2026-2027 Schedule: Middle East Voyages Canceled

Costa Cruises has announced significant changes to its winter 2026–2027 schedule, opting to cancel all voyages to the UAE and the broader Middle East region. Instead, the cruise line is shifting its focus to revamped itineraries that will highlight destinations in Europe and the Atlantic.

Under the new plan, the Costa Smeralda will embark on 7-day cruises between the Canary Islands and Madeira throughout the winter. This marks the first time this ship will operate in this region during the winter months, which has experienced increased passenger demand previously due to its mild climate and diverse coastal activities.

Similarly, the Costa Pacifica, which was initially set to offer Canary Islands voyages, will now be stationed in the Western Mediterranean following a scheduled shipyard stay in December. There, it will collaborate with the Costa Toscana to offer newly crafted 8-day itineraries, as well as extended trips to Southern Europe and North Africa.

These schedule adjustments are aimed at providing greater planning stability for guests and travel partners while minimizing the risk of operational disruptions stemming from the geopolitical climate in the Middle East.

For passengers who had booked trips to the Emirates or repositioning cruises on the Costa Smeralda, Costa Cruises is allowing them to transfer their reservations to alternative sailings. Additionally, each affected cabin will be credited with EUR 200, or EUR 100 per passenger, to accommodate the modifications. Guests who had originally booked cruises with the Costa Pacifica will be automatically adjusted to the Costa Smeralda’s new itineraries, maintaining their original travel conditions.
