Embark on Adventure: Princess Cruises Unveils 115-Day 2028 World Cruise Aboard Coral Princess
Princess Cruises has unveiled plans for its 2028 World Cruise, a remarkable 115-day global journey aboard the Coral Princess. This extensive itinerary will take passengers to 49 destinations across 24 countries on five continents, including stops at 39 UNESCO World Heritage sites. The cruise is set to depart on January 3rd, 2028, with departure points available from both Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles.
The voyage will cover approximately 36,000 nautical miles, crossing both the Equator and the International Date Line, with an early transit through the Panama Canal. Following this, the ship will navigate across the Pacific, visiting Hawaii and various islands in the South Pacific such as Samoa and Fiji. Next, the itinerary includes stops in Australia and New Zealand, with visits to iconic ports like Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland.
Traveling onwards, the Coral Princess will traverse the Indian Ocean, with planned stops at islands like Mauritius and Réunion, before arriving in South Africa for an overnight in Cape Town. This cruise will also mark the ship’s inaugural visit to Mossel Bay, known for its beautiful beaches and significant archaeological sites.
As the cruise continues along Africa’s Atlantic coast, it will enter the Mediterranean, featuring port calls in cities like Barcelona, and historic destinations in Sicily and the Adriatic, including Dubrovnik. A notable stop at Casablanca will occur before the ship heads back to North America across the Atlantic.
Company representatives describe the cruise as a unique global voyage, offering extended stays in ports for deeper cultural experiences. An enhanced "More Ashore" program will provide overnight stays in places such as Cape Town and Auckland, as well as ten late-night port calls in cities like Barcelona, Casablanca, and Honolulu, enabling guests to explore beyond daylight hours.
Passengers can look forward to optional wildlife experiences during the South African leg, including trips to private game reserves. Shore excursion programs will emphasize cultural and natural attractions, showcasing scenic landscapes, Mediterranean heritage sites, and wildlife encounters across the journey.
Onboard, passengers can expect a range of enrichment lectures, themed events, and cultural performances, with culinary offerings inspired by the diverse regional cuisines encountered along the way. Additionally, members of Princess Cruises’ loyalty program, Captain’s Circle, will receive extra onboard credit benefits. For those unable to commit to the full circumnavigation, segment options ranging from approximately 20 to 100 days will also be available.
