The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Luminara Unveils Exciting Expanded Program for 2027

The luxury mega-yacht Luminara, operated by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, is set to expand its offerings for the 2027 sailing season. Newly launched in 2025, Luminara will explore new routes across Alaska and Asia, alongside performing Transpacific crossings connecting both regions.

The planned itinerary features fifteen voyages to Alaska, four Pacific crossings, and two extensive routes combining North America’s northern waters with Asian ports. These journeys aim to visit both popular destinations and more secluded harbors rarely included in large cruise programs.

In Alaska, voyages will operate between Vancouver and Whittier, lasting between 7 to 9 nights. Most will navigate the Inside Passage—a scenic channel stretching over 500 miles amid glacier-carved waterways surrounded by lush coastlines. Several itineraries plan to include Tracy Arm Fjord, where tidewater glaciers reach the ocean, and options for private flights to observe the ice fields closely. Additional voyages will stop at smaller ports like Wrangell and Klawock during the salmon run, offering glimpses of bear activities along the shores.

The Asian itinerary will cover both major hubs and regional stops, including Seoul, Tianjin (the main port to Beijing and the Great Wall), along with Japan’s ports of Otaru and Akita. An example itinerary will span 10 nights from Tokyo to Seoul, featuring views of Mount Fuji and trips to coastal temples. A two-day visit in Beijing will allow passengers access to the Forbidden City. Other excursions will take guests to Osaka, including the famous Dotonbori district, and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Ernesto Fara, president and CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, emphasized that the 2027 season is designed to enhance seafaring exploration. The focus is on an expanded Alaskan schedule paired with innovative Asian destinations while upholding luxury accommodations and personalized service. The voyages encourage passengers to experience two distinct geographic regions on carefully crafted cruise schedules.

Luminara joins sister ships Evrima and Ilma in the fleet, featuring 226 suites with private terraces and amenities reflective of the Ritz-Carlton luxury brand, such as a spa, a marina platform, swimming pools, and diverse dining options.

As Luminara enters service, it aligns with other hospitality brands, such as Four Seasons, Aman, and Orient Express, which are also venturing into the cruise industry, promising a new era of hotel-operated maritime travel with luxury yachts.
