HAL-Holland America Adjusts Alaskan Itineraries: Tracy Arm Replaced by Endicott Arm
HAL-Holland America Line has made adjustments for its Alaska itineraries for the 2026 season, opting to remove all scenic cruising in Tracy Arm Fjord and replace it with Endicott Arm Fjord. This change has been necessitated by ongoing issues with ice conditions and geological instability in Tracy Arm, making navigation unsafe.
The complications were exacerbated by a significant landslide in August 2025, which raised safety concerns regarding vessel access to the fjord. Holland America has informed affected passengers of the itinerary changes, which will now include scenic cruising in Endicott Arm. This new route also lies within the same glacial system and is recognized for its navigable waters, abundant wildlife, and proximity to the actively calving Dawes Glacier.
This decision ensures that all Alaska departures for the year will offer a similar fjord experience, with Endicott Arm becoming the primary destination in the absence of Tracy Arm until the conditions improve enough to allow a return.
