Carnival Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of a scheduled 10-night cruise on the Carnival Splendor due to the ship being chartered for a full-ship arrangement. The voyage, which was set to depart from Sydney on October 12, 2027, was intended to be a round-trip itinerary exploring various ports around New Zealand’s North Island.
Guests with bookings were notified that the sailing would no longer operate as a public cruise. The company clarified that the cruise would still happen but under private arrangements, thus removing availability for individual bookings. The specific organization behind the charter has not been revealed.
The itinerary would have included stops at notable destinations such as Napier, Tauranga, Auckland, and the Bay of Islands. Carnival Cruise Line has offered passengers affected by the cancellation several options. They may either transfer their reservations to another sailing while retaining their fare, eligible for an onboard credit of approximately $100 per stateroom, or opt for a full refund covering their cruise fare and any pre-purchased amenities.
