Princess Cruises Unveils Exciting 2027–2028 South America and Antarctica Itinerary

Princess Cruises has announced its South America and Antarctica program for the 2027-2028 season, featuring the Majestic Princess. The voyages will take place from October 2027 to January 2028, comprising six departures across four itineraries with trip durations ranging from 15 to 37 days.

The inaugural voyage is a 37-day journey starting from Southampton, crossing the Atlantic and concluding at San Antonio, close to Santiago. It includes stops in Lisbon, the Canary Islands, Rio de Janeiro, and Montevideo. Following this long crossing, the Majestic Princess will offer shorter itineraries, such as 15-day trips between Buenos Aires and San Antonio that focus on Cape Horn and the glaciers of Patagonia, as well as 17-day round-trip sailings from Buenos Aires with extensive scenic cruising in the Antarctic Peninsula.

Throughout the season, the ship is set to visit 19 destinations across eight countries in South America. Each sailing will feature overnight stays in Buenos Aires and late departures from key homeports like Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Rio de Janeiro, and Ushuaia, allowing passengers more time on land.

These itineraries will take travelers to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Peninsula Valdés in Argentina and the scenic Carioca landscapes of Rio de Janeiro. Passengers can expect breathtaking views through southern Patagonia’s waterways, navigating the fjords of the Beagle Channel and the glacier-laden passages of Glacier Alley. Also planned are dangerous yet rewarding excursions into Antarctic waters, skirting areas like the Gerlache Strait, Elephant Island, and the South Shetland Islands, where wildlife such as penguins, seals, and whales may be observed.

Princess Cruises will also provide optional land extensions, featuring programs that include a Machu Picchu itinerary in Peru encompassing Lima, the Sacred Valley, Cusco, and the famed Inca citadel. An extension to Iguazu Falls will connect Buenos Aires with the stunning waterfalls located on the Argentina-Brazil border and Rio de Janeiro.

Onboard experiences will feature destination-focused programming, with naturalists accompanying Antarctic sailings to provide insights on local wildlife and the rich history of exploration in the region. Cultural programming will celebrate regional traditions, showcasing Brazilian music and Argentine cuisine.
