Unveiling the Next Icon Class Cruise Ship from Royal Caribbean: All the Exciting Details!
Royal Caribbean has announced the new name and features of its latest Icon class cruise ship, Hero of the Seas, set to launch in August 2027 from Miami. This vessel will join the already active Icon and Star, as well as the upcoming Legend of the Seas, slated to debut this summer.
The Hero of the Seas will introduce eight distinct neighborhoods targeted at families, featuring an array of amenities such as restaurants, swimming pools, and waterslides. Notably, it will have 28 dining venues, more than any other ship at sea, alongside a record number of pools, boasting nine in total.
Among the standout features, there will be pools like Coconut Cove, located near The Lime and Coconut bar, equipped with in-water loungers and poolside service. An adults-only area, named The Hideaway, will also feature two pools, including what is described as the largest swim-up bar at sea.
In addition to its pool amenities, Hero of the Seas will expand on the waterpark concepts introduced in previous Icon class ships. It will include two family raft slides, the first funnel raft slide at sea, and innovative versions of the existing mat-racing slides.
The onboard dining experience is set to elevate guest interactions through new immersive dining locations, such as the Orleans Parish Supper Club, which will serve Cajun and Creole cuisine, and Royal Railway – Hero Station, where passengers will enjoy a themed dining experience.
Families will benefit from the introduction of a new Ultimate Family Treehouse suite, which includes a rooftop terrace, private whirlpool, and multiple bedrooms with bathrooms and balconies.
Michael Bayley, CEO of Royal Caribbean, emphasized the focus on enhancing family vacations by introducing more water features, thrill-seeking attractions, and diverse dining choices to meet guests’ expectations.
