Azamara Onward Gears Up for Exciting Enhancements Ahead of 2027 Mediterranean Voyages

The Azamara Onward, a small-ship cruise vessel, is set to enter a two-week dry dock in early November 2027 as part of the Azamara Forward program, which entails the most extensive refurbishment across the Azamara Cruises fleet. This major upgrade aims to enhance onboard spaces while maintaining the intimate ambiance that characterizes Azamara’s smaller ships.

During this period at the shipyard, key areas of the vessel will receive significant improvements. Notable plans include the renovation of nightlife venues, the introduction of a Chef’s Table dining experience, and a redesign of the main restaurant, Discoveries. Changes will also be made to the Atlas Bar concept, with a complete overhaul of the Cabaret Lounge. Furthermore, staterooms and suites will be refreshed, and various public areas throughout the ship will get updated furnishings and finishes.

Interestingly, one of the new features, the Penthouse Deck, will be exclusive to another ship in the fleet, the Azamara Quest, ensuring continued differentiation among the vessels included in the upgrade initiative.

Once the refurbishment concludes, Azamara Onward is expected to return to service on November 25th, 2027, embarking on a seven-night Italy Intensive voyage from Athens to Rome. Reservations for this voyage are set to open in April 2026, allowing guests their first chance to enjoy the ship post-enhancements.

After its return, Azamara Onward will continue to operate throughout the Mediterranean before heading across the Atlantic for a Caribbean sailing season.

This refurbishment follows the implementation of the Azamara Forward program on Azamara Quest, the inaugural vessel to undergo similar upgrades. The investment across the fleet aims to improve accommodation, dining, and entertainment facilities while focusing on the company’s commitment to destination-oriented small-ship cruising. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance personalization, comfort, and destination immersion, which remains central to the line’s operational philosophy as they advance into the next chapter of their fleet.
