Carnival’s Fun-ternship Program Makes a Splash This Summer!

Carnival Cruise Line is relaunching its Fun-ternship Program this summer, providing over 100 high school students aged 17 and older with hands-on experience in cruise terminal operations across six U.S. homeports: Baltimore, Tampa, Jacksonville, Norfolk, New York City, and Long Beach.

After a successful inaugural program in 2025, Carnival’s president, Christine Duffy, emphasized their excitement to offer students a chance to develop confidence, leadership skills, and real-world experience in an industry crucial to their local economies. The eight-week program will not only give participants insight into Carnival’s cruise operations but also allow them to build essential skills and explore career opportunities within travel and hospitality.

Participants, referred to as "Fun-terns", will assist with embarkation-day operations under the guidance of the port services team, receive mentorship and training in various roles, and earn an hourly wage. The program concludes with a ship tour and a celebratory luncheon attended by Carnival leadership.

Applications for the program are currently open and will be accepted until June 8. Students residing in the participating homeport communities are encouraged to apply, as there are limited positions available. The program will run from June to August, with specific dates varying by location.
