Aurora Expeditions Wraps Up Record-Breaking Antarctic Season

Aurora Expeditions has marked a new milestone with the completion of its largest Antarctic season to date. This season featured 30 voyages, resulting in an impressive 819 landings, and welcomed a 30% increase in expeditioners from 56 different nationalities. The Douglas Mawson achieved an extraordinary feat by reaching a latitude of 78 degrees 44.405 minutes south, denoting it as the southernmost voyage in recorded history for the company. Aurora Expeditions also registered 2,835 polar plunges and presented 269 onboard lectures. Expeditioners contributed thousands of hours to citizen science programs that supported various initiatives related to whale and seabird monitoring, oceanographic data collection, and polar ecosystem observation.
