Oceania Cruises Unveils Inaugural Sailings for Aurelia: What to Expect

Oceania Cruises has announced its plans for the inaugural sailings of the Oceania Aurelia, which is set to debut in late 2027. This ship, previously known as the Oceania Nautica, will undergo a transformation and be officially christened in January 2028 in Miami.

Online previews of the voyages are currently available, and reservations are scheduled to open on May 13, 2026. Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises, expressed excitement over the new ship’s design aimed at extended global travel. He emphasized that the launch of two Around the World voyages along with spectacular Grand Voyages marks a significant milestone for the cruise line.

The inaugural season will commence in late November 2027 with a lineup of European sailings:

  • Mediterranean Debut: Rome to Trieste, 7 days, departing Nov. 29, 2027
  • Oceania Club Reunion Cruise – Venetian Tides: Trieste to Athens, 12 days, departing Dec. 6, 2027
  • European Holiday: Athens to Barcelona, 10 days, departing Dec. 18, 2027
  • Iberian New Year: Barcelona to Lisbon, 7 days, departing Dec. 28, 2027

  • Autumnal Aurelia: Boston to Montreal, 11 days, departing Oct. 4, 2028
  • Colonial Journey: Montreal to Miami, 12 days, departing Oct. 15, 2028

Following the inaugural season, Oceania Aurelia will embark on two 180-day around the world voyages:

  • 2028 Around the World Voyage: Miami to New York, departing Jan. 18, 2028, including a passage through the Panama Canal, a visit to Hawaii, and an exploration of French Polynesia, the South Pacific, and various destinations across Europe.
  • 2029 Around the World Voyage: Los Angeles to New York, departing Jan. 6, 2029, will trace the Pacific coast through multiple countries before visiting the Mediterranean and concluding in New York.

Voyagers on either the 2028 or 2029 circumnavigation will automatically achieve Gold level status in the Oceania Club, with returning guests advancing to Platinum level or higher.

Two Grand Voyages are also planned for 2028:

  • Grand Nordic & Baltic Discovery: A 78-day journey from New York to Boston, starting July 18, 2028.
  • Grand South America Adventure: A 71-day voyage from Miami to Los Angeles, departing Oct. 27, 2028, including stops at various Caribbean islands and a circumnavigation of South America, featuring the Antarctic Peninsula.
