Due to technical difficulties, the MS Disney Adventure’s scheduled 4-night cruise from Singapore was canceled. The voyage was expected to depart from Marina Bay terminal on May 7th, but after passengers boarded, the ship remained docked due to reported propulsion issues.
Guests spent the night on board while engineering crews conducted inspections and repairs. By the following morning, passengers were informed that the cruise would not take place, and disembarkation plans were initiated.
The ship’s Master, Captain Nicholas Pagonis, mentioned that the problem could be linked to the ABB Azipod propulsion system, although Disney Cruise Line did not release detailed technical information publicly.
As compensation, Disney Cruise Line offered affected guests full refunds for the canceled voyage, a future cruise credit worth 50% of the fare, complimentary hotel accommodations, and reimbursement for additional expenses up to $500.
Passengers reported a lengthy wait before the final decision to cancel was officially announced. A statement from a ship operations representative expressed regret over the disruption and thanked guests for their patience, noting that the crew worked diligently behind the scenes to address the issue while adhering to safety protocols.
