The Celestyal Journey recently made its inaugural stop at Agios Nikolaos, Crete, on May 12, 2026. This new port will replace the previous stop in Heraklion on Celestyal’s seven-night "Idyllic Greece" cruise itinerary. The journey begins and ends in Athens, featuring visits to Kusadasi, Turkey; Rhodes; Agios Nikolaos; Santorini; Mykonos; and Milos.
Lee Haslett, the chief commercial officer at Celestyal, expressed excitement about incorporating Agios Nikolaos into the itinerary, noting its growing status as a cruise destination. He highlighted that the port offers a blend of iconic Mediterranean locales and emerging spots that provide authentic experiences sought by travelers.
The 2026 summer season is centered on offering immersive Mediterranean experiences with warm hospitality and a premium casual cruising approach. The company’s efforts to expand its presence among the Greek Islands include showcasing destinations like Agios Nikolaos to international travelers.
To commemorate the inaugural call, local authorities and representatives were hosted on board by Captain Angelos Vasilakos and the ship’s crew. Agios Nikolaos, while less frequented by cruise ships compared to traditional Greek ports, is set to welcome the Celestyal Journey an additional 21 times throughout the 2026 season, which continues until November.
The pricing for the "Idyllic Greece" itinerary begins at $959 per person, as part of Celestyal’s "Iconic Sale" campaign that runs until June 30, 2026. The Celestyal Journey, along with the Celestyal Discovery, had previously been operating in the Persian Gulf before returning to the Mediterranean in April, having welcomed guests back in early May.
