Holland America Line and Princess Cruises have announced a leadership transition within their Alaska and Yukon operations. Ralph Samuels, the vice president of government affairs, will retire effective June 2, 2026, after nearly 18 years of dedicated service. His leadership and industry knowledge have made a significant impact on the organization.
Robert Morgenstern, senior vice president of Alaska operations, praised Samuels for his integrity and contributions, wishing him well as he steps into retirement.
Taking over Samuels’ responsibilities will be Micaela Fowler, who previously served as the director of southeast Alaska government and community relations after joining the company a year ago. Before this role, she was Alaska’s Deputy Commissioner of Commerce, where she managed various governmental functions.
Morgenstern expressed confidence in Fowler’s abilities, noting her growing rapport with stakeholders and her potential to build upon the strong foundation established by Samuels, ensuring the continued success of Holland America and Princess in Alaska.
